Avani means ‘Earth’. The Earth is humble, primitive and firm. And so is Avani…
As you walk the earth, physically and mentally, you experience a sense of firmness and stability, the earth offers you. Further, when you start interacting with the earth, through activities like gardening, horticulture, nature trails, etc…, the body gets attuned to the energies of the earth. This leads to physical grounding. Grounding offers mental and emotional stability. Through course of time, as you grow more in sync with the stable earth energy, your deeper connection with the earth overwhelms you, at an emotional level. You feel a sense of security, stability and solidarity in your thought and feeling. You appreciate life to its fullest. You feel a sense of purpose in your life.
No wonder people love places like the Sahara, or the Grand Canyon! They are definitely more than just a vast expanse of barren rocks, or unbearably hot places! The Earth in all its manifestations does evoke a sense of awe…. It is because the terra firma contains within itself, a never fading solidarity, that is essential to life!
At a metaphysical level, if we view the human body as constituted by the 5 elements of nature, our Mooladhara (root/base) Chakra is representative of the Earth element in our body. The Mooladhara, is our primordial chakra that develops as early as the embryonic stage. This Chakra influences the well-being of all other chakras. If the root Chakra is majorly disturbed, it would have telling consequences on one’s health. Just as our Earth needs to be preserved, the Earth element in our body needs to be preserved and nurtured, for our survival!
As stated earlier, there are many ways to do this. Yoga helps. When it comes to crystal therapy, stones that are red, brown and black, influence the Mooladhara.The energy of these stones stabilizes and energizes first, the physical body, and then the mind.
