Necklace – “Rohana”

“Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae”

DSCN6308

Rohana

Experience a session of meditation with the aroma of fresh sandalwood incense engulfing the space around you…. See what it does to your senses.

Translate this feeling into stone. It is this very transcendental, mild and relaxing feeling, that Rohana characterizes! Picture Jasper and Camel Jasper are stones that speak of strength, sustainability, and endurance.

Rohana, is a beautiful combination of colours and characteristics. With a range of mustards and pale browns, the stones strongly connect one to the earth, and therefore the Mooladhara chakra.

Besides the visually resemblance of Picture Jaspers, and Camel Jaspers to the mild softness of sandalwood beads, it is the property of these two Jaspers to help endure long arduous journeys of life. Crazy Lace Agate is a stone that uplifts one’s spirits, and brings joy, mirth and laughter! (seriously! I have experienced it!) Howlite and White Agate are stones that tame raging emotional disturbances and bring a calm to the mind.

The pale browns are interspersed with whites, beige and silverine beads, imparting it a subtle classy look. With a pair of Camel Jaspers, Howlites and Crazy Lace Agates in the centre-piece, a gorgeous piece of Camel Jasper serves a pendant!

Compared to music, Rohana feels like a distant yet persistent strain of serene music whose notes linger, long after it has stopped playing….

As a fragrance, it continues to haunt your moods, long after the incense has burned out….

Brown gemstones are associated with the Mooladhara, or the root chakra.

White gemstones are associated with the Sahasraara, or the crown chakra.

Dimensions – 8 mm & 9 mm beads, 20 inches long

Necklace – “Manjari”

Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

DSCN6104

Manjari, is essentially strung as a garland of pretty flowers….

This necklace articulates the fresh fragrance of flowers and leaves… Carnelian, Red Onyx, Yellow Pine Agate, Pale Pink Rose Quartz, Canadian Jade, White Agate, Rhochrosite, and Vessonite, all go into making this exuberant necklace!

A beautiful heart chakra necklace, Manjari, has all shades of pink and green stones, and in addition, white stones for the Sahasrara, and red stones for the Mooladhara. The speciality of Manjari, is the twin variant of greens, pinks, whites and reds. There is  both a translucent variant of an opaque stone, in the same colour!

Rhodochrosite(opaque) – Rose Quartz(translucent); Red Onyx(opaque) – Carnelian(translucent); White Agate(opaque) – White Agate (a translucent variant); and three gradiants of green – the grass green Vessonite, the straw green Pine Agate, and the bottle green Canadian Jade!

With pink and green stones, Manjari, flows with gentle vibrations of love and joy, peace and calm, prosperity and serenity. The red stones hold strong energies of balance, stability, security, providing a verve and passion for life! White stones emit very fine and vibrations that work towards purity of thought…

Manjari, follows a flower and leaf sequencing, with silverine spacers, and a  centrepiece highlighting a beautiful crimson filigree inset pendant.

With deeps reds, and lustrous black, spotted by pale pinks and whites, highlighted by fresh green, “Mohini”, is a ravishing combination of pale pink rose quartz, white agate, carnelian, magnetite and vessonite.

The magnetites and carnelians are root chakra stones that aid in stability and security. The white agates and rose quartz are stones that instill  a calming love. Vessonite invites wealth, peace and harmony.

This trendy necklace uses simple daisy spacers and a pair of filigree spacers to bring out the contrast in colours. The centrepiece is bright and pretty, with a pair of magnetites and vessonites, and an exquisitively designed filigree bead that gives it a very ethnic look!

At the first glance, the colour combinations in Mohini, make it stand out as an enchanting piece, – one that could attract any attire!

Necklace – “Kokila”

“Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae”

DSCN6155

There was this beautiful pair of birds, who inspired me to make this necklace. The summer heat was still on, and the afternoons were scorching. It was a very difficult summer. Yet, through all this searing season, I could find an impassioned joy well up in my heart, listening to their beautiful voices, almost all through the day. In the silence of the heat, when all else had given up, loud and clear were the mellifluous strains of the pair of attractive (indian) cuckoos, almost all through the day, in their fervent animated spirits!

This necklace, that I call “Kokila” is in a simple way a dedication to the all-consuming spirit of my pretty feathered friends…

Kokila, is a symmetrical strung collection of Black Obsidian, Indian Agate, White Agate, Red Onyx, Moss Agate, and Titanium Druzy beads, with a luscious Grey Agate pendant!

The arrangement of beads in Kokila matches the beautiful patterning of colours in the cuckoo. Although simple in pattern, Kokila offers an unmatched visual charisma!

Black Obsidian protects and grounds, the Indian and Moss Agates create a serene calm, the White Agate balances with Obsidian to create a balance in the Yin-Yang energies, while the Red Onyx provides a security and stability, apart from the attractive quotient! The quaint Titanium Druzy beads de-stress, relax the mind, uplift spirits, and amplifies one’s energies…

Kokila is a well-balanced combination of the Yin and the Yang, and beautifully blends grounding with upliftment, relaxation with vigour, and harmony with a peaceful contrast!

Green gemstones are associated with the Anahata, or the heart chakra.

White gemstones are associated with the Sahasrara, or the crown chakra.

Red, Grey and Black gemstones are associated with the Mooladhara, or the root chakra.

Dimensions – 6mm & 8 mm beads, 18 inches long
